hi... divaltor here

trip around the sun

Another year-end summary, more achieved or failed goals, another letter to my future self. The internet is flooded with "My {year} in review" posts where everyone shares their successes and completed plans. I have nothing to share, nor do I see the point.

Dreams, goals... Are they real? Or are they just illusions that our brain uses to manipulate us, forcing us to move forward? And even when we achieve what we desire, do we become as happy as we dreamed?

I resonate with Kepano's idea of setting global goals for a decade. Annual goals often turn us into hostages, forcing us to adjust our entire life around achieving them - this year taught me that. "Is "New Year" really new?

Of all the goals I set, I didn't achieve a single one, while all significant events happened spontaneously.

Photography

The autumn trip to Japan gave me indescribable impressions. This beautiful country (for tourism) with friendly people awakened my passion for photography. Initially planning to just take pictures for friends, I became fascinated with finding composition and working with light. Photography allows you to look at surroundings from a different angle and find beauty in small details. It helps to anticipate situations a few seconds ahead to adjust the camera settings and capture the moment at the right time.

Blogging

I started writing spontaneously, largely thanks to Bearblog. Creating narrative stories about social issues turned out to be more engaging than personal diary entries. I realized that turning it into a mandatory routine doesn't make sense - inspiration comes unexpectedly, and forcing yourself to write daily is pointless.

Writing is definitely not for everyone. It's hard work requiring vast imagination, cultural awareness, and inspiration. As a hobby, it's a wonderful activity that allows you to escape from the everyday hustle of the real world.

I wish everyone to spend the new year spontaneously. In pursuit of plans, we forget that life's brightest moments happen unexpectedly and often cost nothing. A friend's genuine laughter or a random find can bring more happiness than expensive purchases or travels.

Good luck.
